Invisible Invaders (1959)
Nomination Year: 2012
SYNOPSIS: A good-hearted scientist denounces nuclear research when his friend is
killed. He's soon visited by his friend's walking corpse, claiming to be an
alien from another galax--pardon me,
the MOON. This supposedly advanced,
world-conquering, invisible race demands humanity's surrender, or they will
invade by inhabiting corpses and killing everyone, which they proceed to do
when their dire warning goes unheeded. Can a couple of scientists, a
daughter, and an Air Force Major find out how to defeat this menace while
locked in a bunker?

It Was on Our To-Do List, All Right? The invisible aliens from another galaxy animate John Carradine to inform
one of the world's top scientists that, although they've been on the moon
for 20,000 years, they are now finally getting around to conquering
Earth -- and that they're going to do it by causing the dead to rise and kill
to the living!
