SYNOPSIS: Vic is on his first day on T.A.C.T.I.C.A.L., an elite police unit that's either a crack anti-drug unit or possibly a group of corrupt cops shaking down drug dealers and pocketing the proceeds. Unfortunately, Vic is a little unclear on this, having just been knocked out by drug dealers and losing his memory, which comes back to him slowly in flashbacks interspersed throughout the movie. With him is the drug lord's moll, who just found out that he (the drug dealer, not Vic) isn't the legitimate businessman she thought and so must be eliminated. The two are on the run from both the drug dealers and the cops, with nowhere to run and no idea who to trust. This is a high-end Smithee movie. It's super cheap and the acting is terrible -- but it was also the first movie for the director and most of the actors, there are flashes of clever dialog, and it does a good job of keeping you guessing as to whether T.A.C.T.I.C.A.L. are the heroes or the villains. One suspects that, with some money and a little more experience, the filmmakers could make some pretty good movies. On the other hand, this is still a movie told mostly in flashbacks and where the heroine spends 3/4 of the film running through a park in her underwear, so let's not get carried away.
