YOU ARE THERE...on Man's Most Exciting, Most Incredible Journey!
Nomination Year: 2003
SYNOPSIS: Yes, another Venus landing, every bit as dumb as the other ones. Instead of dinosaurs and no aliens, THIS group finds...ancient technology and no aliens. Seems the aliens destroyed themselves developing a weapon to destroy Earth. Eh, serves 'em right.

Worst Special Effect
Look Out! It's a Mediocrity Swarm!
This Worst Special Effect features fake-looking meteors and really cheesy sped-up film.
Smithee Award Winner! Inane Dialogue
"This Can Only Mean an Attack..."
Yep, that's what those bombs and stuff mean. This is probably my favorite of the Inanes.

Crummiest Ending
Humans Must Continue!
...Even though the picture won't. Essentially, the whole movie was for absolutely nothing. Everyone dies. "All the heroes are dead, but we'll try again someday" is the gist of the ending voiceover. Whether they mean the trip to Venus or the possibility of a sequel is unclear.
