Time Burst: The Final Alliance  (1989)
Nomination Year: 2004
SYNOPSIS: 350 years ago, an English sailor stole the secret of immortality from a Japanese warrior priest. Now, he's an unkillable hitman. But he's double-crossed the Agency, lost his memory, and is being pursued by both his former colleagues and some Samurai. His only hope is to team up with another renegade agent (actually, she seems to be the Agency's renegade administrative assistant...no, really) and try to complete his last mission...hunting down his former Sensei.

Crummiest Ending
Ending. Tunnels. Villains. Secrets. Immortals. WHY?
They could all escape through the secret tunnel, but the (immortal) Sensei decides it's his time to die (WHY?) and insists that the hero kill him. The hero refuses, then decides he wants to become mortal (WHY?). The Sensei will give him the secret, but only if the hero agrees to kill him (WHY?). The hero does, learns the secret, and becomes mortal (WHY?). Then, he and the heroine escape through the secret tunnel, and totally ignore (and are ignored by) the villains (WHY?). They laugh about how he's only got a few decades to live now and then start to make out (WH...wait, no, I understand that part). Then the Sensei laughs and walks up a wooded hill (HUH?). The End.
