Slave of the Cannibal God  (1978)

(Foreign Titles)
Nomination Year: 2006
SYNOPSIS: A world-famous explorer disappears in a trek into remote wilderness. His wife organizes a search party to go after him. But from the beginning, it's clear that not only are they marching into danger, but that someone involved has a hidden agenda....

Also of note for those with squeamish stomachs. The director was fond of staging "nature is red in tooth and claw sequences" while in the jungle. Which is a fancy way of saying that none of the animal-on-animal or human-on-animal violence is faked. Animals were distinctly harmed during the making of this film.

Gimme a Stake!
They tie Ursula Andress to a post, and paint her naked body. Hands up everyone who suspects this was the reason they made the film.

Ahem. I said hands up.
