Nomination Year: 2007
SYNOPSIS:  A school teacher (Akiko) is spending her summer at a lake house with her sister (Natsuko). A mysterious coffin is delivered to the handyman who lives down the road. A girl in a strange coma (pallid, low on blood, funny puncture marks on her neck) turns up on the lake road. Akiko has a strange recurring dream involving a dog that runs away. Her somewhat-older boyfriend (or perhaps fiancĂ©) is a Doctor at a nearby hospital (I call him Uncle/Doctor/Boyfriend). What could these things have in common?

Deus Ex Machina

Railing against Fate
The vampire is winning in his hand-to-hand fight with the boyfriend. Suddenly ... the vampire's long-dead father grabs the vampire's ankle. The vampire falls into the bannister, which gives way, hurtling the vampire to the floor where he is impaled on a piece of the bannister that fell with him.

Even the vampire doesn't buy it.

Truth in Advertising
Ignoring for a moment the goofy drawing on the front, let us take a look at the back text. Other than the fact that there are vampires, and the movie is set in Japan, what's the plot? Someone is mailing vampires? Normally you want to give some info about the movie, I would think. Distributed by ...? Rank Video Services. Finally, truth in advertising!
