Carnosaur  (1993)
Nomination Year: 2006
SYNOPSIS: Remember how a couple years ago we did Raptor, a 2001 Roger Coreman movie about dinosaurs rampaging through Nevada? Well, Carnosaur is a 1993 Roger Coreman movie about dinosaurs rampaging through Nevada. Instead of the sheriff and a medical examiner vs. evil scientist Corbin Bernsen, it's a night watchman and an eco-protester vs. evil scientist Diane Ladd. Aside from that, it's the same movie. Literally. Many of the supporting characters are played by the same actors and much of the footage in Raptor is actually recycled Carnosaur footage. Remember Lyle, Corbin Bernsen's assistant who announced he was going to the government, but went to feed the dinosaurs one last time? Well, this time he's Jesse and his beef is that one of the teenagers killed in the desert (at the beginning of Raptor and the middle of Carnosaur) was his daughter. This time he's lured into the basement to see his daughter's body. I'd tell you about the lasers getting turned off and the chase and all that, but you've already seen it. Same with the kids in the desert, the deputy sheriff (he's the sheriff this time), the poultry truck driver, etc.

Smithee Award Nominations
"Alas, Poor Yorick"
"Greetings, Green Brother."
One of the hippies who has chained himself to the bulldozer in protest fails to see the Carnosaur "sneaking" up on him. He sort of rouses himself, looks at the monster, and says, "Greetings, green brother." What happens next isn't pretty.

What -- Me Worry?!
The heroes defeat the carnosaur using a front-end loader (just like in Raptor!). Then the army shows up and kills them. Roll credits (they roll top-to-bottom, rather than bottom-to-top).

Actor Character Claim to Fame
Diane Ladd <Not Yet in Database> Long and moderately-illustrious acting career; why is she slumming in this? Flo in Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore; Ida in Chinatown; Marietta Fortune in Wild at Heart; and many others.
Clint Howard <Not Yet in Database> Started off as the "This is Tranya" kid on Star Trek, later played with "Gentle Ben," then got relegated to a life of B-Movies. Wouldn't be half so sad if he weren't brother to superstar/director Ron Howard.
Frank Novak <Not Yet in Database> Played "Henry Kissinger" in Watchmen; Teddy in Independence Day; and a ton of little parts, often cops or heavies. Got his start in Silent Night, Deadly Night Part 2 as the victim of an umbrella.
