Silent Predators  (1999)
Nomination Year: 2006
SYNOPSIS: Well, you know it's going to be bad when the very premise is that mutant rattlesnakes are the "silent" predators. A corrupt developer of housing ignores warnings that the area is infested with a particularly nasty breed of rattlesnake. With predictible results.

Silent, But Deadly -- Well, Actually Not That Silent
A man's car has broken down, and he's hitching a ride with a truck carrying a dangerous reptile (it says so on the crate). There is an accident, and the crate breaks as the truck falls over an embankment. The man hitching the ride picks up a rock, and hears rattling. The snake strikes, and the title Silent Predators comes up on the screen as the rattling continues.

Will Make You Squeamish!
The front cover photo is reminiscent of the slug on the cover of Slugs. And the back cover has one of the best damning-with-faint-praise quotes ever: "Those who are afraid of snakes will become squeamish."
