Komodo  (1999)
Nomination Year: 2008
SYNOPSIS: Patrick Connally has witnessed something terrible. So his psychiatrist decides to take him back to Emerald Island, North Carolina, in order to show him that the monsters he's imagining aren't real. They're just shadows. Only problem is -- the monsters are real.

The effects were realistic, and the acting was not terrible (it could have been horrific, given the subject matter). The major problem is that the filmmakers seemed to believe that "nothing happens" was functionally the same as "full of suspense."

Generally a Bad Idea, But So's This Movie.
The repentant merc and psychiatrist are looking for Patrick, who has run off. They're in an old filtration station.

"Shall we split up?" she asks.
"That's generally a bad thing," he says.
"Yeah. I'll go this way," she says, and off she goes.
