SYNOPSIS: The inmates are running the asylum. And I'm talking about the filmmakers. A weird-fest from start to finish. I don't even know where to begin. A man takes a long journey to visit an eminent psychiatrist who runs an asylum. When he gets there, he finds the good doctor's methods a trifle...unorthodox. He falls in love with one of the patients and rescues her from the fiendish evil of "Dr. Tarr," who is in reality an inmate who broke loose, killed the real head of the asylum, and assumed his place. The real torture here is of the audience. Supposedly based on an Edgar Allen Poe tale.
