Saving Throws

All saving throws are made on 1d20.* You must roll equal to or less than the save number found on the table for the Basic Characteristic you're using. The GM may apply difficulty or opposition modifiers to your saving throw, as explained below. Any roll of a 1 on a saving throw always succeeds; any roll of a 20 always fails, and may (at the GM's option) result in a fumble.

*Occasionally, I will be preserving the old "percentile roll vs. a Characteristic" save, if the situation is very stat-based. In such cases, 01-05 always succeeds and 96-00 always fails, as in the old rules. -B.

Each Basic Characteristic has a save number except for Strength. Tests of a character's physical strength are made by rolling Basic HTH Damage.
